Ticket to Ride: Railroad Strategy is a game where you build a railroad and travel from one city to another. Each turn, you need to choose the best action to take. You can only choose one of three actions:
Spend your train pieces to claim parts of the railroad.
Draw three more destination tickets.
Keep at least one of them and draw two railway car cards.
Each player starts with 45 train pieces and must choose two Destination Cards. The game takes place on a map of the United States and Canada, filled with multicolored railroads.
On your first turn, you can choose your starting point and destination. Your first action is to spend your train pieces to claim parts of the railroad. The amount of pieces you can spend depends on the length of the railroad segment you claim.
The next action is to draw three more destination tickets. Each time you claim a segment, you can also connect it to the city on your ticket. You can only connect a segment to a city if you have enough railway car cards that match the road’s color.
After your third action, you can choose to keep one of the tickets you just drawn. You can only keep one of them, but you can draw two more.
